Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Institute of Technology (LNJPIT), Chhapra is a government-owned engineering college in Bihar, India. It is affiliated with the Aryabhata Knowledge University, Patna. LNJPIT, Chhapra spreads over 40 acres of land. LNJPIT is the seventh government Engineering College in Bihar state. The first session commenced from 8 September 2012 with an intake of 240 students in four streams: Civil, Mechanical, Electrical & Electronics and Computer Science & Engineering. the institute opened in January 2010 with a capacity of 1000 students and 120 faculty members, 150 support staff and 30 administrative personnel.The institute is named after Pt. Jai Prakash Narayan, who was popularly known as Loknayak. The institute functions under the aegis of Loknayak Jai Prakash Educational Trust(regd.)
