INTODUCTION OF Bhagalpur College of Engineering(B.C.E)

Bhagalpur College of Engineering(B.C.E), Bhagalpur was set up by the Department Of Science and Technology, Government of Bihar in the year 1960 with a view to providing efficient system of technical education in Bihar.Earlier, the affiliation was under Tilkamanjhi Bhagalpur University (TMBU) Bhagalpur, BIHAR which was later passed on to Aryabhatta Knowledge University (AKU), Patna which was established by the government of Bihar, under Bihar Act 24, 2008. BCE is administered by the Department of Science and Technology under the guidance of the government of Bihar.

BCE has been accredited by NBA for three programmes for 3 years with effect from 1st July 2016. The programmes are Computer Science & Engineering, Civil Engineering and Electronics & Communication Engineering. This department is one of the most dynamic departments of this institute as it is imparting training to its students not only through classroom teaching but also through practical sessions using well equipped laboratories so as to make them fit for taking up any challenging job in industries and R&D organizations after completion of their studies.

The Department is an integral part of this institute. The department has started its journey since the inception of the institute through offering courses in Basic Electrical Engineering at undergraduate level and Engineering Mathematics and Electrical Engineering at postgraduate level. Later on, this department has offered courses in Electronics and Communication Engineering and Computer Science and Engineering at undergraduate level. Since 2009, the department has also started offering a course in Computer Application leading to Masters Degree in Computer Application. The department is also starting a new course in Mechanical Engineering from the session 2014-15 onwards.

The History of Bhagalpur College of Engineering

The B.C.E., Bhagalpur is one of the premier institution in the state of Bihar, imparting quality technical education at Bachelor level and Master level. The college is situated on the bank of river Ganges near Sabour (Bhagalpur), the silk city of Bihar (India). It was established in 1960 and since then it has been playing a vital role in producing engineers and managers of high calibre.

The entire institute is spread over an area of about 200 acres and it is about 40 km from Mokama on national highway 80/31 and about 10 km from Sabour Railway Station. Regular bus service is available from Sabour to Bhagalpur by both private and government buses. Patna airport is about 250 km from Bhagalpur via Barauni-Mokama or via Barauni-Gaya.

The College offers UGC approved research programmes leading to M.Tech./MBA/MPHIL & Ph.D under regular and part time category, School offers four year Bachelors Degree Course in Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), Electronics & Communication Engineering(ECE), Mechanical Engineering(ME) Civil Engineering(CE) Electrical Engineering(EE), Chemical Engineering (CHE)

Bhagalpur College of Engineering, Bhagalpur is a government technical institute located in Bhagalpur, Bihar, India. Established in 1960 under the aegis of Science and Technology Department of Government of Bihar, the college has since expanded to 14 departments in engineering. The college is affiliated to Aryabhatta Knowledge University and offers degree courses in engineering.

CAMPUS LIEE OF BCE

The campus has four hostels, one each for boys and girls and two for faculty members. A primary health centre is located inside the campus which provides medical facilities to the students. A sports complex with indoor stadium and a basketball court is also available inside the campus. Cafeteria, mess and canteen are present inside the campus to provide food to all students.
