Aryabhatta Knowledge University (AKU) is one of the educational institutions that were established by the Government of Bihar by Act No. 1580, in the year 1999.  GLORY  HISTORY OF AKU

Aryabhatta Knowledge University was established by the state legislature of Bihar on 7th March, 2005. It is located near Buddha Smriti Park, in the heart of the city of Patna. Since its inception, AKU has become a centre of excellence for educational and research facilities and approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under Section 2(f) and 12(B) of UGC Act 1956. AKU operates with an annual education budget of INR 1.3 crores at present with a faculty strength of 67, which includes 32 full time professors, 22 associate professors and 15 assistant professors as well as 18 supporting staff members. The university also has an independent institute management in addition to 3 departments consisting of 50 teaching faculty members – all dedicated to quality education and research activities.

Aryabhatta Knowledge University, founded by the Government of Bihar in 2012 and named after the great savant and mathematician Aryabhatta (5th century CE), is an affiliating university located in Patna, India. The university offers higher education in science and technology, agriculture, management studies, liberal arts and commerce.

The 'Aryabhatta Knowledge University' was established in the year 2008, and is a unitary, teaching-cum-affiliating university. It is named after the ancient Indian mathematician Aryabhata. It is affiliated to the 'Bihar State Education Board' and approved by the national council of teacher education (NCTE), Bangalore.
